Caparinho Rock
Vilar de Perdizes
This site is believed to have served as a ceremonial sanctuary, where two anthropomorphic carvings one male and one female together with possible depictions of weapons and a series of carved rock depressions, suggest rituals associated with human fertility. The sanctuary lies within an archaeologically significant landscape, home to numerous prehistoric remains, including additional rock carvings, a burial monument beneath a tumulus, and several areas containing concentrations of pottery and stone artefacts. These finds indicate human activity spanning from the Neolithic Period to the Bronze Age.
