Rock-Cut Wine Press
Vilar de Perdizes
This wine press is located inside the ruins of a former winery and differs from the others in both its design and, most likely, its more recent date. The building has a square plan, although its walls are now almost entirely in ruins. Its most distinctive feature is the probable treading surface, formed by a horizontal stone slab that appears to have been transported to the site rather than carved in situ. At one end of the slab, a carved spout likely allowed the must to drain into a removable collecting vessel.
